Elephant King, by Trace Bundy

September 16, 2012

Named “Most Promising New Talent” of 2008 by Acoustic Guitar magazine, Trace Bundy has been impressing audiences with his playing, which will please fans of Phil Keaggy, Michael Hedges and Laurence Juber. On the title track, Bundy concocts a rondo of harmonics, syncopated strumming and percussive slaps to his guitar:

The meditative “Be Still,” played with violin, shows off Bundy’s softer side with chamber precision and lullaby delicacy. The album also includes a live concert DVD.
