The search committee chair praised Pittman’s “vision for the future of theological education.”

Nancy Pittman was named president of Phillips Theological Seminary in early January.
Claire Meredith, chair of the Tulsa seminary’s board of trustees and the search committee, said in a statement that Pittman had been chosen from a “diverse pool of applicants.” She praised Pittman’s “strong leadership skills and vision for the future of theological education.”
Pittman began in the role immediately, having been interim president since July, and previously vice president of academic affairs, dean, and a professor of ministry. She is ordained in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with which Phillips is affiliated.
