Jesus vs. #AllLivesMatter

A couple of days ago I tried to make a point about #AllLivesMatter drawing on the biblical prophets. This week, a Facebook friend made a similar point in relation to Jesus’ teaching in the Sermon on the Plain in Luke’s Gospel. His point seemed to me to deserve to be turned into a meme, and so here it is:

Jesus vs. AllLivesMatter

In his hands, the Bible was a living, aching, burning thing.

By egregiously misreading Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s moral crisis, it primes viewers for violence.

The Bible employs many merisms, in which two contrasting words stand in for a whole spectrum. “Male and female” is one of them.

Lately I’ve been feeling the same emotions I felt when I deconstructed my evangelical faith.
