The Christian Century seeks a community engagement editor
The Christian Century, a progressive Christian magazine of theology, politics, and culture, seeks a community engagement editor to help us foster deeper relationships with and among readers, primarily online.
Primary duties include leading and implementing our efforts in social media, email newsletters, and reader engagement of other kinds. Other work areas may include website engagement efforts, analyzing engagement metrics across platforms, forming organizational partnerships, and planning in-person events. As a hybrid editorial/marketing position, the community engagement editor also participates in editorial planning, production, marketing strategy, and other collaborative work.
The position requires deep social media fluency, strong writing skills, and more than a passing knowledge of progressive Protestantism in the US. The ideal candidate will also have one or more of the following: a background in journalism or marketing, experience with HTML and content management systems, and/or a degree in a religion-related field.
This is a full-time position based at the Century's office in downtown Chicago.
Inquiries are welcome. Send resume to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Review of applications begins August 31.
