Iliff settles with Latino ex-president: David Maldonado says justice issues resolved

Although charges of “institutional racism” at Iliff School of Theology in Denver are still under review, the United Methodist–related seminary has reached an agreement with its first Latino president, who resigned suddenly one year ago.

David Maldonado said the settlement, which will also give him an emeritus title, means “the justice issues have been resolved,” according to United Methodist News Service. Maldonado, who was appointed president in mid-2000, had said he was told by some faculty that he was too conservative or did not “fit in.”
