John Wall is professor of philosophy and religion at Rutgers University in Camden, New Jersey. He has written on the moral and religious thought of Paul Ricoeur and on the ethics of families and child rearing.
Marriage as a public issue has been growing in visibility in the U.S., but it has never moved to the center of public discourse.
