DIRECTOR OF LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT AND CHURCH RELATIONS—Rooted in the rich tradition of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America; Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, seeks to explore new and creative ways to partner its ministry in higher education. Concordia is committed to be a place of conversation concerning the form and function of the emerging church and how those faith communities will welcome the gift and vocation of Concordia's graduates. The director of Leadership Development and Church Relations will be at the center of this conversation and will create an environment where both traditional and emerging voices are heard. The successful candidate will develop partnerships of discovery and practice that will engage Concordia's students, faculty and administration with the challenges and visions of a changing church in a changing world. The director will have responsibility for being a key campus leader, along with the campus pastor and the director of the Institute for Faith and Public Life, in bringing the college into contact with the needs of the ELCA as well as the wider communities of faith in the upper Midwest. The director will supervise the coordinator of the Church Professions, the coordinator of Student vocation formation, the CHARIS Ecumenical Center, the Parish Nursing Center and others who may become involved in aspects of the program. This person will bring these offices into conversation with Campus Ministry, the Institute for Faith and Public Life and area congregations so that Concordia may serve as a resource for congregations in Concordia's corporate territory. Requirements include an advanced degree in an appropriate discipline, commitment to the mission of Lutheran Higher Education, sympathy with the mission of the college and demonstrated leadership ability.
