Benjamin Webb, an Episcopal priest in Iowa, is director of the Center for Regenerative Society and author of Fugitive Faith: Conversations on Spiritual, Environmental, and Community Renewal (Orbis).
Some two decades before Robert Bellah and his colleagues wrote the seminal 1985 book Habits of the Heart, which improved the public conversation about religion and society in the United States, Bellah penned a provocative essay called “Religious Evolution.” He has finally returned to that ambitious theme.
In his previous books Scott Sanders did much to deepen the public conversation about the sources and patterns that connect broken communities, damaged ecosystems and suffering individuals, and about what it will take to heal and renew things.
