Two years after Mel Gibson angered Jewish leaders with The Passion of the Christ, the actor/director has again incensed the Jewish community by reportedly spouting a drunken anti-Semitic diatribe upon his arrest in California.
Fundamentalist JerryFalwell, cofounder of the defunct Moral Majority, has formed the Faith and Values Coalition, which he said will “maintain an evangelical revolution of voters” with Christian values in mind. “Essentially, TFVC is a 21st-century resurrection of the Moral Majority,” he said November 9. Falwell, 71, intends to serve four years as national chairman.

A Toronto-area Catholic priest who served as spiritual adviser to Mel Gibson during filming of The Passion of the Christ has been suspended by Cardinal Aloysius Ambrozic, archbishop of Toronto, for celebrating the Latin mass for a conservative Catholic splinter group.
