Manna in the wilderness of depression
Sometimes I wish the Gospels told a story in which Jesus slumps
in the shade of a tree and can't make himself face another crowd or meet
one more plea for help.
When we speak of manna from heaven, we usually do so with a big helping of irony. In our time, the term has come to mean "something that's unheard of and unachievable."
