Institutions, like individuals, go through passages and need rites for them. We do not often talk about the inner life of the Christian Century, but when we have an editorial change, it seems right to observe the passage.
We are here to acknowledge the old and welcome the new, and to anticipate the role of our publication in the 21st century.
The Century's work relies primarily on subscriptions and donations. Thank you for supporting nonprofit journalism.
